Recent Successes
When we support an organization, we do so with confidence that they will succeed given adequate resources. The last three years have brought many exciting successes from our grantees. Recently, the first of four targeted dams on the Rogue River was removed. Last year, we helped preserve access to the iconic Laurel Knob climbing area and saw a Northeast gem permanently protected. We enjoyed a spectacular year in 2006. Seven of our grantees succeeded in their work, protecting 1 million acres of land in the US, creating a 4.4-million-acre park in British Columbia, removing one dam in Colorado, and permanently closing 300,000 acres in Montana to new oil and gas development. We hope you'll share our excitement about the recent return on our investments.
